Eleanor Bolles Parker was born on October 31, 1904, in Fayette, Iowa. At that time her father, James Donaldson Parker, was 36 and her mother, Nellie Klemme, was 33. Eleanor married Robert Lee Fox on December 27, 1931, in her hometown of Fayette.
Eleanor graduated from Upper Iowa University 1926. She taught school for a year then got a masters in drama at Northwestern. Taught at Francis Shimer School in Illinois 1928-1930, Illinois Wesleyan College 1930-1931, Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia 1931-1933, Robert College in Istanbul, Turkey 1935-1941. Returned to US in 1941. Husband worked on the Manhattan Project. Lived in Baltimore after the war where her husband worked in the Army Chemical Corps.
Eleanor died on February 19, 1988, in Honolulu, Hawaii, at the age of 83, and was buried in Fayette, Iowa.
