Dorothy Lakin Parker was born on March 28, 1896, in Fayette, Iowa. At that time her father, James Donaldson Parker, was 28 and her mother, Nellie Klemme, was 25. She married Lee Holoway Goebel on May 15, 1922, in her hometown.
Dorothy graduated from Upper Iowa University 1917. She received training as a nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital. RN in 1920. Worked as a nurse. Visiting Nurse Assistant 1920-1922 (Henry Street Settlement House in NYC). When her husband died in 1929, she remarried and lived in Florida.
Dorothy Lakin Parker died on February 16, 1966, in Lakeland, Florida, at the age of 69.
Dorothy Lakin Parker and Lee Holoway Goebel had one child:
